These are short text bits, dated 2007-06-06. Mangrove 51 by the way has come to an end.
Mangrove 51 was a rock band formed at Seeheim (near Frankfurt) in early 2001, and consisted of Andrew Alexander (vocals), Christian Schmidt (guitars), Robert Bücker (keys), Richard Bruntsch (bass), and Olmo Krenzin (drums). The band has produced two demo CDs.
Like many other rock bands these days Mangrove 51 was located in a digital production environment, and did a lot of work in home studios, but there was more! On their way exploring times from 2/4 to 7/8, BPMs from 90 to 180, and styles from Tango to Techno, Mangrove 51 irritated, charmed, then casted a spell on machines and humans and so turned markets into theaters, cathedrals into bazaars. — Sounds wild? Yes, it was!
And of course Mangrove 51 was standing on the shoulders of giants, and fell back on their ideas. There were features with guest vocalists on the recordings, long time collaborator Nadine Bonifer for instance took part from the beginning and last sung "Foodfight" on the demo CD "Floating".
